It all began in a lunch bar
The Hazife family started out from a small family lunch bar: Tony’s Sandwich Supply in Belmont. Pilots regularly visiting the shop proposed we should take on airline meals.

Ismail and Maria Hazife started Perth Inflight Catering (PIC) with four staff, operating out of a tiny kitchen at Perth Airport — working together around the clock.
Perth Inflight Catering expanded our staff to 40 people and our facilities from 400sqm to 800sqm as our contracts for WA regional airlines continued to grow.
We further expanded our catering services to deliver meals for Perth stadiums including Subiaco Oval, Burswood and RAC Arena.
With Salim Hazife now Managing Director, PIC gained international airline customers, including Etihad, continuing as a supplier until they ceased flights to Perth in 2017.
Earned an international contract for South African Airways, continuing until they ceased trading due to the impact of COVID.
PIC is awarded our third major international award in three years, firmly placing us amongst the world’s best airline caterers.
More people get to experience the PIC difference as we begin catering for Royal Perth Hospital for the WA Government.
While some inflight caterers shuttered their doors, we began directly servicing Virgin Australia flights in Perth, and were awarded a large, short-term contract for Crown.
With a fresh new vision and a delicious new brand, we relaunched as Foodfolk Australia.
Foodfolk Australia proudly marks a milestone partnership with Vietnam Airlines as caterer for the inaugural nonstop Perth–Ho Chi Minh City service, signalling our return to the international aviation market.
We were honoured to welcome South African Airways back to Perth post COVID and to continue our longstanding partnership as their chosen catering provider.
We took home Western Australia’s WasteSorted Award for Business, recognising our commitment to reducing waste and advancing sustainable practices across our operations.
We secured our contract with Royal Brunei Airlines in Melbourne, marking an exciting milestone as Foodfolk Australia spread its wings beyond Perth.
Late 2025 we reached a major milestone with the move to our new 9,600sqm Perth factory, strengthening our capacity, capability and foundations for future growth.
Launching in 2026, Foodfolk Australia’s permanent Melbourne facility will mark a significant step in expanding beyond Perth, enabling service across Victoria’s aviation and non-aviation markets.
